I was curious if anyone had a resource that displayed temperatures at which certain things needed to be stored at to remain 'good'.

IE: Eggs / Milk say 45*F to remain good, what about other things?

I`m curious because of the basement and storage setup I`m working on in there, wondering what I can keep in there that would normally require a fridge :)

(I know cans, etc, will last longer in the cool temps. but what about things that NEED to be cool)

If you buy fresh, never refrigerated eggs, they will last quite a long time before going bad,at room temp. Once you refrigerate them, then they must be kept cold until used.

WOW!

That is a bunch more information than I thought was available on this subject.

Time to do some reading.

Thanks a bunch!

We store (and are prepping to store more) dry and canned goods in heat that is 100+ degrees for easily 4-6 weeks in row. So, similar problem, just opposite direction. My wife and I are doing a bunch of experiments this summer with different things in different packages all date stamped and purposely stored in what we think is extreme (the attic). At 3 and 6 months we'll check eveything carefully... you can test the same way.

Had a good read of this as I too am planning to store more dry and home canned goods. Thanks for the links.
Just need more storage space now.
