I threw together a handgun bullet sampler pack. When I go to the range, sometimes ask others if I can shoot a few rounds from their gun. I don't like to bum ammo, so I carry a small selection in my range bag. (Some .22, .380, .38, .357, 9mm, 10mm, .40, .45, even a few .45LC) Maybe I've invented a new BOB item.:tongue_smilie:

Do you often use jacketed and semi-jacketed hollow points at the range? Gets a litlle spendy doesn't it? (nice little kit BTW)

I sure do on occasion. It's not a mainstay but I do like to practice with what I carry so probably one in ten trips will be with carry ammo.

I do on occasion as well, and for the same reasons. That's what I was getting at when I asked.

Yep, I occasionally shoot my (more accurate IMHO) JHP ammo.

Now I only use my carry loads when I change, too expensive and now hard to get.

@kx - I don't disagree with you at all. Just curious.

I have taken a "sampler" to the range, but it was kind of the oppisite of what you do.
I've taken 8 different kinds of the same caliber, rifle ammo.(.223) I wanted to see what my new rifle liked. The funny thing was, it shot the best groups with Wolf Military classic. Who-da-thunk-it!

That's how I setup my ammo storage too. I figure if I can at least grab a can if if I have to leave i`ll cover more than 1 or 2 calibers :)

So you have a full size "variety" ammo box? Sounds like an even better idea than my tiny kit.

Yep, it is very pricey to shoot so I don't do it as often anymore. On a lighter note, it is good to see the ammo shelves begining to be restocked again in my area.
