What a shame. Is also very disappointing that the RCMP made that horrible error in judgement. Guess it shows that you have to depend on family and friends to sound the alarm.

There are a number of articles on the web about this incident. Seems the lawsuits are flying, too.

I would hate to see lawsuits against any of the search and rescue units, they always seem to work so hard and diligent in their duties. I would condone some sort of censorship for that RCMP Sgt who obviously was derelict in his duties due to his failure order the start of a search

Not for nothing but if i were to "off" a wife this is exactly how i would do it. This is not the first time i've heard of a wife dieing from her husbonds "stupid mistakes" in the outdoors. Exposer or dehyderadition kills the women and is confirmed by the coraner. yea i know he stomped sos in the snow, i would have filled the tracks with pine bowes. Apparently he also moved away from the area where he left the sos as there were several of them. But i may be miss reading the artical if so my appologies and i am truly sorry for his loss.

P.S. Wheres the spell check?
