WOW, that is interesting, this is the first I have heard of this event. I have shot Dall Sheep on that Mountain back in the 70's and a large moose at the base of Bellicose Mountain, it was a nine mile meat pack six trips for the moose.
It is interesting that they got the valley wrong, it is in Peters Creek Valley, not Eklutna valley. This area is about 20 miles from Los Anchorage, and about 100 miles from me, but it is close to Kevin, he lives in Peters Creek, AK.

Hard to come by a friend that will push the limits like that for you!

The personal stories I could recount, would make your blood run cold, it does mine just thinking about them. As I have said before publishing houses should be clam-mering for the true accounts of events encountered by the old guides and the old bush pilots, but most old bush pilots are dead.

Here it would be hard to "NOT" find it. Here if you go into the wilderness with anyone, you both come out, or there better be a damn good reason why one did not. A partner in an outdoor activity is expected to go to the edge of his own death to save your a$$.

Hopeak, I agree with you 100%. Just sayin' that kind of metal is rare!

That's why I'm selective of the partners I choose. And you're right - 100% right.
