In a way, it is kind of sad that some felt compelled to urge folks to get outdoors.

If getting outdoors and getting exercise is so important, why are camping and national and state parks so expensive? Day permits run $8 and up. Camping is $30 or more per night. I can get a cheap room at the NoTell Motel for $40. (Not that I'd know. That's what the sign said...)

It's to pick up all the trash, keep the steps and hand rails repaired and keep the signs painted. You don't have to drop bread crumbs anymore. Just follow the trail of trash.

Hey, just follow the trail to Mt. Trashmore! That "mountain" in the background is a landfill. The land to the right is the beginning of a state forest. Oh, that body of water in the foreground is no big deal. It's only the municipal water supply..........:sneaky2:

this whole...telling people to get outdoors thing. I got a resume the other day from a guy who really didn't impress me much, and the first line in his "personal interests" piece said something like "I love getting out and being one with nature..."

So I immediately thought "good, taking a f***ing hike" The next line said " I enjoy hiking" and so I thought "well then, that works out for everybody".
