View Full Version : WHOI - Incredible Technology
WHOI (the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Woods Hole, Mass) has some incredible technology.
This ain't Crashdive's sub. This one ventures almost 7 miles below the surface of the ocean. http://www.capecodonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20090607/NEWS/906070335

I've been to their labs. Haven't seen that particular one, but some that were similar.

That place is incredible. I was able to visit the "better" places there a few times when I was a kid and my Dad was alive :) - he had a lot of friends there. Now, all I've got is an old WHOI sweatshirt........

I was just there one time. A friend went to post graduate school there on the Navy's dime. Recieved a Masters in Mechanical Engineering and a PHD in Ocean Systems Engineering. Got the behind the scenes tour. Pretty neat stuff.

I hope you got a chance to eat at the Flying Bridge in Falmouth. Phenomonal baked stuffed lobster and everything else.

Nope, didn't eat there. The two places that I remember eating at I've already talked to you about. I don't remember the names, but you did. One was a seafood place on the water front (No Name?) that served lobster on paper plates. The other was an Italian place that served their pasta by the pound. And then of course there was Cheers (Bull Finch's)
