Plastic Brick

Well, I got the machete done a month ago, turned it in, got a B- on the project, and impressed the teacher enough that he kept it for a week and used it in his yard. However, I wanted to use it a bit in my back yard and left it outside. It rained two or 3 days in a row and since the handle was made of MDF it absorbed all the water and blew up like a balloon. I could send you all a picture of it shrivelled up but it looks nothing like it did. The next time i get something done that you guys helped with, I will try to get pics to you before anything happens to the prototype.

Just make a new handle for it.

Did you learn anything? If the handle wasn't functional for you then it wouldn't work out in the field. So, try your hand and make the handle out of some other material.

First, what is MDF, second, use a canvas phenolic for the handle

try hardwood, bone, or leather for the handle

If you want to use wood make sure to get stabelized wood. It does not expand or contract like un-stabelized wood.
