So, in one of my "What am I going to try today" searches of google, I found a bunch of different sites with instructions on how to make a net hammock. The only thing all of them fail to tell you, is what kind of cordage to use so that you won't end up on the ground. Do any of you have any experience with this? Or at least an idea of the strength/type of cordage to use? And yes, I have seen the plans for the fabric ones, and though it does seem easier than the netting method, it's not what I'm looking for. :)
I made one years ago. I used 1/2 inch three-strand nylon dock line.

I would make them out of 550/parachute cord as we always had plenty of that availble. I make them essentially the same way I make gillnets except I use the cord intact and don't pull out the inner gores.

You're really going to use a lot of cordage. I've slept in some lightweight nylon hammocks. I would think that nylon twine would work fine. It'll help keep the cost, weight and size down.
