View Full Version : A Primer on Ticks
Ticks. I felt one of these little critters crawling up my leg on Sunday, just before it started making a withdrawal from my blood bank.
I just learned that they are the leading carriers of diseases to humans in the United States, second only to mosquitoes worldwide.
Here's a primer on ticks:

I'm just always grateful that they're not the size of bears.
That right there folks is why Canada should be kingdom all its own. Where else on the planet could you find that kind of insightful wisdom? Ticks are obviously a scourge in the wilderness but Trax puts it in perspective. Sort of like saying, "Yeah, they're bad but they could be a whole lot worse."
Hard to believe the Brits or the French did hang on to them. Well, that and the diamonds.

Ticks are the reason I wear pants year round. And poison ivy... poison oak... thorn bushes...
You get the idea.

Nope...not gonna say it. Not gonna do it.
And all this time we thought it was because you were civilized.

But keeping them rolled them down at your ankles doesn't count! :sneaky2:

I have a sign on my front door that reads, "No saggin', No Raggin', and no colors" I had enough of their kind when I was younger.
I have a belt and I know how to use it.

No COLORS? Did you know that you can't prohibit the wearing of motorcycle club jackets in a bar or other public place?
As counsel for our region's misunderstood non-violent philanthropic motorcycle owner's association, the local affiliate of a large national organization, I have already been asked to address this issue on more than one occasion.
In the case of Cohen v. California 403 U.S. 15 (1971), the United States Supreme Court ruled that individuals have the constitutional right under the First Amendment, to wear clothing which displays writing or designs. In addition, the right of an individual to freedom of association has long been recognized and protected by the United States Supreme Court. Thus, a person's right to wear the clothing of his choice, including COLORS, is protected, and persons or establishments who discriminate on the basis of clothing or club membership are subject to lawsuit and loss of license.

Well, I just read about the case of Cohen v California (I cheated with Google) and must say - I reserve the right to refuse service to anybody!

Speaking of which, did you see today's Google opening search logo? Celebrating 25 years of Tetris! Cool COLORS, huh?
