Last night I was out with my wife and she remembered that she needed a gift bag for an upcoming shower so we stopped at our local dollar-type store. As we were getting ready to check out, I noticed an end-cap of first aid supplies. What a find! They had individually wrapped pairs of latex free surgical gloves for $0.35 a pair. They also had anti-microbial/bacterial face masks at $1.00 for a a pack of three and individually wrapped single use thermometers for $0.10 each. I had never seen the disposable thermometers before, but they are a small, flat strip (kind of like you would use in a fish tank to check the water levels). Got a ton of supplies for under $10. I might be going back for more to stock up, especially since I'm making emergency kits for our relatives for Christmas this year. If you have an Ocean State Job Lot around you might want to check it out.

There's an Ocean State Job Lot in town. I stop in once a week just to browse, and leave with bags and bags of stuff and $25 - $50 less in my pocket. Always great bargains to be found. About 5 years back, they had MRE entrees and sides. Huge Selection. Entrees were 50 cents. Sides were 25 cents.

Our dollar store had first aid kits in a hard plastic case for $1. Each had about 12 different sized bandages. It was a good deal considering at the regular store, some of the larger bandages were $1 each.
Plus there was room to stuff in a razor, ibuprofen, etc.
