Brass knife making

How good of a material is brass for making knifes? I have a bunch (10 foot) of 1/2 inch brass bar.. I'd like to make a knife kind of like the tracker out of brass.. more for show than anything.. I know it wouldn't hold an edge near as good as a 1095 carbon steel..


Which brings me to another question.. Damascus Brass knife :cool2: Eh?

Brass is a very soft metal. It will not generate a spark. That being said, tips for spears might work well. I personally wouldn't use it for a knife.

For show, why not... A Damascus Brass knife? Would be a first!
