Squirrel= tree rat

Pheasant= ditch hen/ chicken...

Because our hunting limits and seasons are heavily regulated by govt and thier departments we sometimes call the whitetail=government goat

coyote=song dog or brush wolf as our eastern yotes are believed to have bred with the wolf during it's migration to the east coast.
