Hello from Pittsburgh

Hi. my name is Nathan, and I am an industrial design student at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. I often am given design problems as assignments, and they often delve into the realm of outdoor equipment- ie: A few months ago I had to design an emergency firestarter. I have always enjoyed outdoor activity and started hiking when I lived in the Ozarks. I am mainly on this forum to get information on certain survival products, but enjoy any conversation about wilderness survival. About the only hiking I do nowadays is walking to and from class, which is a subject in the realm of wilderness survival because I live on a mountain overlooking Pittsburgh. Living in Pittsburgh is like living in the wilderness and in the city at the same time.

I hope it is alright if I post product design questions on this site because if the products I develop ever get produced, you may end up being the user.

Hello and welcome to the forum. If possible tell us a little about the firestarter you designed in another thread. I know other forum members would enjoy that as much as I will. We have numerous posts on firestarters. It seams to be one of everyone's essential carry items.

I didn't actually work for Lego but was a Lego fan who built models for 25 years and went to a few shows.

Thank you anyway for buying your children toys that are productive. They may be engineers in the future that may design a road I drive on.
