Greetings from North western Oregon (a small horse breeding town called Scappoose) I have been an habitual traveler -high ways, trails and areas priorly not messed w/, well not too much at any rate.
Have been on the road for 25 years, and thru that have gone thru not carrying any thing (hey! I was 16) to what ever I cld get my hands on/second hand crap usualy/
then I went thru the high tech is best fase where if it wasnt Big brand name it wasnt worth the carrying.
In the late '90s, I started getting into Mountain man / fur trade re enactment (the people, the gear, skills etc)and went bugnutz all natural fibre everything, canvas, wool, leather. In the proccess, I tought myself how to make my own shoes, using a 4 or 6 point blanket and making a Capote out of it (just finished my new Nor Wester Capote 2 months ago) and par for the corse, other thin gs grabed my attention, anywhere for G.P. survival skills to the gear they found on Utzi, the Ice man in the Alps.
