That's right boys and girls, the Lone Star state is set to succeed from the Union,
The link to the WOAI article follows so you know I'm not making this up.

Martial-arts master Chuck Norris has his sights set on becoming more than a Texas Ranger - he has volunteered to run as the U.S. state's first president.

Norris, who played TV hardman Cordell Walker in hit series Walker, Texas Ranger, has put himself up for the job of running the region after discussing the possibility of the state seceding from U.S. control during a rant on CNN.com's political blog.

The actor, who is a staunch Republican, insists Texans want an independent state after being let down by the U.S. government - and thinks he'd be the ideal candidate to lead the Lone Star state's revolution.

He says, "I may run for president of Texas. That need may be a reality sooner than we think. If not me, someone someday may again be running for president of the Lone Star state, if the state of the union continues to turn into the enemy of the state.

"Anyone who has been around Texas for any length of time knows exactly what we'd do if the going got rough in America."

It's looking more and more likely: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/04/15/gov-rick-perry-texas-coul_n_187490.html

Gov. Rick Perry rejected money from the stimulus package for the state of Texas. At least some politicians still have some credibility. I would head back home, but it's looking like things are going down hill so fast, I better just stay put and ride out the storm for the time being.

So, Sapper, you from Texas too?

lol as a native Texas woman, I shall take that as a compliment...and as for the weather...if you don't like it now, just turn around and it will have changed.
I actually used to teach in inner-city Dallas...if that ain't a survival situation, I don't know what is.

When the Bogey Man goes to bed at night, he looks under his bed to make sure Chuck Norris isn't there!
