Hi. We are a couple living in Michigan. Tweek and Celia. Tweek because he "fixes" things and Celia because my mom said so. Tweek loves knives, born in Scotland and is retired. I am unemployed (auto ind.), like to garden and was raised in Texas. He is the one that talks funny. We just started a 20'X20' vegtable garden and are just trying to survive. The dream is to buy 5+ acres down south somewhere and be as self sufficient as possible. Been reading the posts and see some like-minded people. Our friends think we are nuts.
Looking forward to "meeting" ya'll, and learning what we can.

Welcome aboard.
We do, too. But then our friends think we're nuts so it all works out okay.
Welcome home.

Welcome to the Forum. By the way we are all nuts and will likely be the first one they ask if an emergency or other happens. If they can find us. If they can't, its too late to ask.

Hello and welcome! (i'm new myself :) )
I'm curious, how much would 5+ acres down south somewhere cost??

Depends on whar down yonder you talking bout. 5 acres in south texas and north texas, oklahoma, louisiana, they all are going to be different depending on the 5 acres in question. Does it have a water source? How fertile/rocky is the ground? Is it a flood zone? etc.
5 acres in Alaska will apparently cost you about $300,000. Significantly cheaper down here.
