I'm sure all of you have seen the news stories about the earthquake in Italy. The numbers I've seen are 150 dead and 50,000 homeless. That's a SHTF scenario and speaks volumes about why we need to be prepared.

I've also seen reports of repeated small earthquakes in California and suggestions that they may be a precursor of a much larger quake. Make certain your emergency supplies are up to date and your BOB is ready to go.

The crazy thing about the earthquakes is that it appears that at least one scientist was on to something. http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/L6566682.htm

Y'all know I support earthquake research, right? Well we have 3 faculty and 15 or so Grads here from Italy. I have not identified any that are from the area that got nailed, but the reports(in Italian) they are getting put the numbers much higher.

Looks like they had a strong after shock today.
