Hey all. I need your help. My dad finished rebuilding the engine of our 250 trail boss days before he passed away. I was not home at the time so I had very little to do with it. After the break-in period, the head gasket becomes compressed and the head bolts are no longer tight enough. SO all I really need to know is what to torque them to. The compression is down and liquid (not sure what it is, prob. oil or gas) is very slowly oozing out where the head gasket is. So, what should I torque it to?

P.S- The manual was very helpful in saying to return it to my local polaris dealer for servicing. But i'm not mechanically incompetant... at least they don't know that.

If no one has the answer, you should be able to pick up a repair manual from Polaris, repairmanual.com, Clymer Co. or Haynes Co.

Here is a link to all of them. $20+ plus shipping.

I'd seriously suggest either an ATV forum, or just searching for the manual online. I've seen the PDF for my truck for the Chilton and Haynes available online.

I think torrent reactor might have what you need. Can't verify the validity of the torrents though. Haven't tried to download them or use them.
