View Full Version : Hello from Brazil
Hello everyone. I am new here, and new to preparedness. I am VERY serious about learning and have no clue where to start with even the most simple basics.
I moved to Brazil 5 months ago wtih my husband and 4 kids from North Carolina. My goal is to build a stock that can support my husband, me and 4 kids for quite some time. We hope to have some land in the next months where I can begin my gardening, planting trees, etc. but I want to start now with whatever I can. I don't know how to can yet, but plan to start learning. Where do I start on any of this?
I am impressed with the passion and seriousness with which people take this on the forum and look forward to learning (& maybe some day, sharing).
Thanks!

Hello and welcome. We've got another member that spends much of his time in Brazil. The key is don't try to learn everything all at once. Slow and steady, and before you know it - voila!
Welcome home. If it's not too personal, why did you move to Brazil?
Thanks for the quick welcomes! My husband, though he lived in the States for over 17 years, is from Brazil originally. We had been thinking of moving here for about a year when the opportunity arose - so here we are!
Good for you. I'm always interested in why someone leaves their native country whether they are leaving the U.S. or coming here.
You can use the Search function to find posts on just about any subject but feel free to ask if you can't find anything or if it doesn't answer your question. If we don't know the answer we'll make one up just for you! (wink).

Welcome, and make yourself at home. As Rick said, use the Search Button (at the top of each page). Remember, the only foolish Question, is the one not asked. We are here to help you suceed.
Cool! Another Brazmerican! I moved to Belo Horizonte in 1999, lived there from 90-92, and my wife grew up there. I am temporarily in the US but we plan to move back this year, most likely in the Fall. Where are you in Brazil?

Hey...yeah, I am still getting adjusted. We are in Uberlandia, MG. I love it here. If you plan to bring a container - just ship it before November. After that it will get stuck at port during the holidays when ports get busy. Ours was not released until end of January - we shipped it from States in mid-Nov.
