Hi,Im 44 from Scotland.Lived in Glasgow for the majority of my life.We moved 5yrs ago (after my wife was mugged) to this island off the west coast of Scotland & bought a little cottage in the middle of nowhere & a bit of land & started growing our own, keeping chickens, bees etc.

Got a couple of dogs,a cross collie/alsation & a german shepherd pup
Being a city lad it was a massive learning curve for me but a move im glad we made.
Living in the sticks we have invested in a wood burning stove & use bottled gas.
At the moment I am still working in Glasgow 2 days a week:sad: but that isnt for too much longer as I have handed in my notice.
Anyways got wood to chop & store so ii say bye for now & hope to learn loads from you all on here.;)

Welcome, I've been to Scotland numerous times while I was in the military. It has always felt like home to me, especially the northern portion (The town of Forres) I've been to Glasgow, Tarbert, Campbeltown, and went skinny dipping with Nessie

Welcome,
I live in Michigan and propane is REALLY expensive. I mean, you only use it if you have no other choice. You could spend $500 per month just on propane for heating.

I'd like to get a wood stove but I hear my home insurance would double. I just enjoy a wood fire now and then in the winter.
