Almost had to bug out

Tonight on the way home from another town, I noticed an unusually large number of cars on my road. When I got a little father I saw why. On a mountain not a mile from my house a wildfire was raging. Well I boogied up my driveway in a hurry. I got my some of my stuff loaded into my fireproof cellar, my dad went and got my disabled grandpa in his van in case we had to leave. I luckily had my BOB in the case we had to evacuate. Despite the wind blowing 30+ MPH the local fire department has almost got it out. I'm staying up late tonight in case it flairs back up. Let's just hope it doesn't! :)

In dry areas wildfires can strike very quickly. I couldn't find any national data, but in Florida there are currently 135 wildfires burning. All the more reason for us all to be responsible with our campfires and pay attention to burn bans.

It's still burning a little, but the firefighters have got it all but beaten. I saw three families that did have to evacuate. If there's an article written about it I'll post it here.

This morning the fire was barely smoldering. Later in the day we got two inches of rain, so it's all out!
