Greetings from new member in BC

Hello everyone, new to the forum and have already learned a ton just from reading the threads already. I live in Vancouver BC and am an avid kayaker, hiker and camper. My interest in survival comes mainly from the fact that I recognize there's a real possibility of getting into trouble out there, heck I almost have gotten into trouble out there and some friends have! So I want to make sure I'm as prepared. My friends always tease me about being the 'gadget guy' and always having everything handy in my bag of tricks, but gear is only part of the equation. I'm looking for to gain the knowledge and mental preparedness for survival.
