Does anyone remember Chemlights?

Not the ones like Cyalum sticks, but rather the flashlights that held pepper spray.

Chemlights were sold in the late '70s through at least the early 80's and possibly well beyond that. The Chemlight was a hard plastic 2 D-cell flashlight with an oblong lens and "head." The batteries loaded from a threaded rear cap. The head was also treaded on and, when removed, had an adapter to connect to a battery-sized pepper spray cartridge which was then inserted in front of the batteries. The thin metal tube through which the spray was fired protruded just beyond the lens.

The handle of the light had two slide switches: one turned the flashlight on/off and the other, which had a "slide-bar" safety, was used to discharge the chemical. The spray had a range of about 10' and would "hit" whatever the light was centered on. Kinda' like a "laser sight" of sorts.

You could carry the light around and attract no more attention than with a "regular" flashlight.

I was hoping they were still made/sold as I would like to purchase a few for family members. Can't find any mention of the Chemlight on-line ......

Thanks, Sapper,

That's not the one. The one I'm looking for looked exactly and only like a flashlight and discharged through the lens, not from behind. The design was so simple that it was brilliant. Sold for about $29.00 back then.
