The December student rioting in Athens, Greece (triggered by a police officer's shooting of an unarmed 15-year-old boy), was so intensive that the police department quickly ran through its arsenal of tear gas and was forced to use supplies that were 25 years old. One demonstrator told a Times of London reporter that it was unfair for police to use canisters that old because they contained dangerous chemicals that caused rioters to get "sick" and to "have trouble breathing." [The Times (London), 12-12-08] OK, so if I protest and disrupt life in the city, promise me that you will only use stuff that won't be all that affective.

Ah the smell of tear gas in the morning. Reminds me of my youth. I could take the bus to work and and tell by the smell where I got off. It's great sinus medication, breaks them loose. It brings back memories of sneaking down to the Mall and checking out the campers. Thanks for the memories.

In the prison we disposed of chemical agents after three years as they lose their effectiveness. However in New York we stopped using tear gas or CN and now use CS which is an incapacitating agent.

CS is nothing. Anyone who's been through a gas chamber should be able to get hit with CS while naked and shrug it off.
