An evaporative cooler, should work for the veggies like it explains.

I wonder if adding salt to the water would lower the temperature to prolong cooling. If you could do it that way, you should be able upscale it for larger applications such as cooling dessert type homes.

No, adding salt works on ice to lower the melting point, there is no ice involved in this cooler.
