I do that with my Bushmaster Varminter in .243. Goes through pretty fast, but it is fun.

I guess is fun, but is there any practical application? Not being a fuddy duddy, just curious

Sarge or Crash, This needs to be moved to General.

It has nothing to do with Survival Food: Foraging, Hunting, Fishing, and Trapping

Almost all, if not all AR's and AK's have chromed lined bores and barrels. Not much chance of burning the throat out of one.

Yea, and it makes the kids think you're cool. Not that it matters what they think.:p:D

Bump firing is fun but an awful waste of ammo with no practical application. I once had an Egyptian Hakim 8mm Mauser semi-auto that would blast all ten rounds out in one loud BRRRRIP. I actually heard a guy at the range comment to his son that I was shooting a BAR. Mac

Sometimes, I'm just a redneck and I don't care about practical applications or wasting ammo. I enjoy shooting guns, I just like the jolt and the bang.....
This looks really fun to me. I gotta try it.
I may waste a bunch of ammo, and it may not be practical but so what.
I'll be grinning like a little kid after the first round

I can't see videos, so is this guy using the cranks that we used to sell ??? They mount on the trigger guard, and you just turn the crank.

He's holding the weapon on his hip with the thumb of his right hand in the trigger well and through one of his belt loops. He slides the weapon forward until it fires. By leaving his thumb firmly placed, the recoil moves the weapon thereby engaging the trigger. He goes throug a 30 round mag pretty quick.

As mentioned, there is no practical application and nothing I'd attempt at a public range.

That said, I've BF'ed many a semi-auto but only private property.

Shouldn't hurt ANY quality AR/AK as they were designed to fire in the fully automatic mode (though not for sustained periods).

I would guess one's own bump-firing cyclic rate does not approach the RPM's of FA weapons....I could be wrong.
