Nice pics - If only Doug would've jumped in the water - you could've speared the gator just before it ate him - then we could've eaten gator tail.

Well guys I have to say, your part of the world is one area where I would certainly be a total newb, not my kind of wilderness, but having followed along some of the other postings I think the most important thing posted here is the word before in post #2. I'm pretty certain Doug would have agreed....

Im sure, Because that gator was ay least 8ft and nice n fat. The other guys name is donny.

Im surprised they havent removed a gator that large out of there yet.Someone deciding to take a midnight swim in the spring might end up as dessert.Ive seen a huge gator there on down the run in my canoe but you can bet they come into the spring basin after dark.I regularly dive with 5-6 footers in other springs but that long a gator is too dangerous.
