I bought a ham the other day while the wife was at work. When I got home I looked up on how to cook the thing. I learned at that time on how to prepare a glaze to put on the ham. So, I had to rummage through the pantry and find the ingredients. I found a jar of strawberry preserve. That's what I went with and after cooking the preserve with the other ingredients I was able to glaze the ham. Well, I couldn't find Karo syrup so I substituted maple. Cooking the ham with the glaze put a nice stink in the house and now the wife thinks I can cook. What ever...
I'll have to try this glaze thing again.

Try brown sugar and Coke. Works great and it's easy.

Thanks for the recommendation. I saw that recipe but we only had diet coke. I figured it wouldn't work as well with the diet drink.
I'm in a chili cook off competition tonight. We'll see how that goes.
