We're getting the arctic blast. Predicting 25 to 30 below with minus 50 to 60 degree windchill. No school tomorrow. Was minus 44 just north of us last night.

My Sorells were damp last night and very uncomfortable. Changed to leather boots (Canadian military - oversized) with two pair of wool socks.

I don't even want to tell you what it will be like here today...74, and sunny. In fact through NEXT weekend it's supposed to be in the lower to mid 70's.

Yeah, greetings from the north, we'd been locked into those temperatures for weeks over the holidays and just got rid of them a few days ago :) Enjoying t-shirt weather now!

The weather is unreal here. Mid 40's and the wind is gusting to nearly 100mph. We call it a Chinook weather system or Chinook winds. Snow melt flooding over roads covered in 4-8" of ice. It's so slick on the roads that even studded tire's are almost useless. All the schools are closed so my daughter asked me to come into Anchorage to get the grandkids. A couple days ago it was -30 now its +44. I love Alaska! I can't imagine living anywhere else. There is just so much diversity.

8 degrees in the Hills. I travel from the woodpile to the door and to the mailbox. I may break out the insulated Carharts and the winter beard helps. I know, but after working
outside all my life I don't get cold, wet or too hot unless it's fun time.

Just remember;
You're not cold until you're wearing EVERY piece of clothing in your backpack, and you're either in your sleeping bag in your tent or by a fire. If you've done that and you're still cold, well then you can say you're REALLY cold. (heh)

I've been known to say that to kids on occasion when they say they're cold out in the woods at night.

BTW it is kinda cold here today.:D
It was 14-degrees F when I left the house this morning.

Calling for it to be in the teens tonight. May not be real cold for some of you, but for Florida.......plumbers are gonna be real busy this weekend.
