Well I finally made the move, only a short distance though (20 miles). I left Madison and now live in Austinburg, much more rural.

I'm renting a portion of a large ranch house. It has two guest suites, both with two bedrooms, full bath, kitchen, and living room. I will use one to live in and the other as a guest suite and training room.

I'm looking to setup some of my basic classes out there. The property includes six acres and is surrounded by woodland on three sides with the river on the backside.

I'm familiar with the property as it was built by ex-in laws and I lived out there for a year and a half when I got out of the Marine Corps in 1991.

I took these pictures the other day.

I like the barn and the shop buildings.

One neighbor about four hundred yards to the west and one a quarter mile to the east. You can't see them though. The backside the house sits on the high side of the river (a hundred feet down). The driveway is 150 yards off a back road through the woods. You can't see the road. No neighbors across the street.

I plan on converting the small barn into a work shop.

I spent the last five days out at the new place. The weather here has been really bad, COLD & SNOW... The natural gas well can't keep up with the heating needs of the place, so we use wood burners and a fireplace to augment the heat. The place may look modern but we depend on gas and water wells to run the place. It's like living in a very large cabin, nice but a lot of work.

The temperatures over the past week dropped below -10F degrees with wind chills around -20F degrees. I have more than two feet of settled snow on top of all the buildings. Today is not bad, in the twenties but we got five more inches of snow this morning.

The place is great but a lot of work, I'm starting to remember what it was like when I use to live out there.
