During Christmas break, me a friend of mine went camping in a mutual friend's cabin out behind her house in some woods. The cabin had no running water and no electricity. We cooked and heated the cabin by an installed wood stove. I took a couple of pictures of where we stayed and thought I'd share.

The cabin

When we got there, it was already dark so we went on to bed. When we woke up, we found that we weren't the only ones staying the night. Thank goodness none of us were allergic...

There must have been 50 wasps all together staying with us but we got rid of them all.

And just an outdoorsy picture.

If you are easily disturbed by blood, skip this post.

On Christmas afternoon, my friend was struck by stupid and I had to take him to the ER. He decided to swing a machete the wrong direction on a fallen tree we had already chopped up and proceeded to cut himself right below the knee.

The reason it looks so bloody right there is because we had to walk up a steep hill and to the house. Part of the way was driven in a truck but the part we had to walk was about 1/5 of a mile.

The wound.

Getting the stitches.

And all 5 stitches.

A careless mistake can befall us all…

Reason # 23 on why carrying a razor is a good thing: Shave the leg so the tape don't stick to the big curly hairs around the nasty gash from the Machete...

Nice pics RX,wish I had thought to take pics when my youngest decided to take the pedals off his trick bike because they are for sissies, his foot slipped off the bar,and the washer that was supposed to hold the pedal on gashed a line right up alongside his shin bone.Bled like a stuck pig.

Took him to the er and he had to lay back on the bed when the doc was administering the anesthetic, and then again when he was beginning to stitch it up,the doctor had to leave the room in tears when I told my son to "buck it up sissie boy, that little needle can't hurt as much as that washer knifing it's way up your leg",took about 10 minutes before he was able to come in and finish the 13 stitches.
