It's a little early for this, but I ran across this today..

http://www.powderfin.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=85

Looked pretty neat..

Though I imagine I could accomplish the same with just a 10'x10' square of netting and some rope..

Where do you Canucks get your netting ?

Mind you, I guess you could just slather on some bug dope before you go to bed..

But would that last you all night?

LOL

Seriously? No comments?

Did I say anything taboo or fool hearty? :)

OK, I'll jump in. If the no-see-ums in BC are anything like the ones here (we call them flying teeth), it needs to be a reeeeeeeal fine mesh net. (or you can spray netting with a little water and dish soap)(works till it rains)

Wait, no-see-um netting is no guarantee against no-see-ums? LOL

Where do you get the netting?

All screens/netting are not created equal. Down around here if you want to leave your windows open in the summer and are in an area prone to no-see-ums, you need a really tight mesh. Same applies for netting. I have a bee suit where the netting keeps out the intended critters, but the no-see-ums can pass through. If you want protection against no-see-ums, make sure what you're buying will do it.

But there's the rub..

If it says "no-see-um netting"....

You'd assume they'd make it fine enough to keep them out..

Only one way to find out, I guess.. :)

I kind of like that rig I linked, though..

Be easier for piece of mind (I HATE bugs) than just netting held down at the edges by rocks..

But do I want to spend the $$$ on it? Guess I'd have to see how much just the netting would be..

If it's just a case of an extra $20-$30...

For the record, I love bugs. If you're buying it and aren't sure, make sure you know what/if the return policy is. If they advertise as a defense against no-see-ums, it probably will be.
