This is a take-off of the post by Dougz on one man tents.

My favorite one man tent (originally sold as a two man tent) is an Egyptian cotton wedge tent I bought for $15 about ten years ago at a yard sale. I was told it was a boy scout tent, though I certainly never saw anything like it when I was a scout. Very light weight for a non nylon tent, it does not leak, even in heavy rain and, unlike nylon tents, it breaths. I'd guess it is from the 1940s or 1950s, due to some construction features you are unlikely to see in newer tents. I'm sure that, when new, it was a fairly spendy number. Try finding an Egyptian cotton tent on the web. For size, it is just large enough to keep me and my gear dry on a rainy night.

The biggest disadvantage is the height. It is strictly a lay down affair.
