hello from Thailand

Greetings to everyone. I am a retired American and living in Thailand for last two years. I retired after 25 years working in New York State prison system. I always loved the outdoors and grew up in upstate New York. I used to live in Catskill Mountains but also loved camping in Adirondacks and Helderbergs. My mother is native American from Vermont and she also taught me love of nature. I currently work on Chiang Mai mountain rescue team and give wilderness safety instruction to tourists going on jungle treks. Wilderness here much different than in USn in many ways, but also very similar in others. I would like to keep connection with people in the great country of America and also share knowledge and experience with you all, most of whom probably know much more than I.

Thank you kindly. Actually I met an Alaskan man here in Chiang Mai at Empress Hotel restaurant just before US elections. He has a Thai wife and lives part of the year in Alaska, part is Thailand. I also have several cousins in Alaska. My mother lives in Florida also.
