Hello, my name is Manio. I've been interested in the wilderness and it's wildlife for a couple of years, ever since I watched an episode of Survivor Man.

I've always wanted to do what Les Stroud and Bear Grylls do and try and survive for a week in one place, I think coming to this community and just doing things and getting my questions answered and answering other people's questions might get me closer to that dream.

And even if it'll just be me and a friend recording ourselves for YouTube, it would still be something amazing for me.

I come from Canada, and love nature!

I'm only a teenager also, but I know quite a bit about nature, and animals so don't judge me just because I'm in the 18 range. I hope I will enjoy my stay here.

Hello and welcome Manio. There is a lot of good info on the site. I think it's great that Survivorman and Man vs Wild have sparked an interest for you in getting out into the wilderness. There is a pretty lengthy thread on the two shows that you may want to read through and even add your opinion.

Hey, Welcome to the site!! You will find some here that will actually read your post and make positive appropriate comments. You will also get those that will call you a newb and to GTFO. Don't take those inappropriate comments to heart as those people probably live in a fall-out shelter and have no social skills at all.
Personally, I find Bear Grylls to be a whack-job and believe that some of his antics will get you killed. Survivorman is a little more realistic and Les Stroud probably knows a little more about what it takes to actually survive in a "I got lost in the woods" scenario.
