So far, there's an endless string of moose visitors this winter. Always cows, with calves or without. About every second day a couple are coming through the property. Yesterday, Supermom and her twins came by, feeding leisurely in the meadow. I finally went and took some pictures, should be a few really nice shots. This morning, I saw them again down on shore when I went to get water. Good job on protecting her calves so far, see if they can make it through the winter.
A couple days ago, two adult cows came by, one very pretty in hues of cinnamon with dark tipped fur creating a sort of halo effect on her. They're funny when they travel together as adults, it always looks like they're in constant argument over where to go. One will head out one way, the other standing and looking, then going a bit of a different way. Then the first one will turn around, stop and stand, continue on a bit in her preferred direction. Doesn't look very harmoniuous.
Makes it all a bit harder with the dogs, I have to keep a sharp eye and ear on them and do a sweep of the property in the mornings to establish the moose situation.
In my quest to tell the moose apart, I think their bell might be the best way to identify individuals.
