I'm from california, I'm 17, and I'm trying to learn what I can about bush craft and other such survival skills (tho practicing is a bit difficult in my area due to the lack of....well....bush/woods/etc, although we do have small parks and foot hills) if you want to know something more about me, well, simply ask

Welcome to the forum comicfan, and even practicing in your own back yard is a good start, things like building a shelter,or firestarting (if you are in city limits check the codes on fires within city limits).

Welcome comicfan. It seems like you are well on your way to becoming prepared. I am glad that there are those in the younger generation like yourself that are taking an interest in wilderness survival thus keeping it from becoming a "lost art". You will find vast amounts of knowledge within these posts. If you cannot find what you are looking for, just ask. There are also many great books like FM 21-76 the U.S. Military survival handbook, all kinds of bushcraft and wilderness survival manuals, and my favorites the "Stalking series by Euell Gibbons.

Hello, hello. Here's a question for you, have you ever gotten involved in a local scouting program? Either Boy Scouts,or if you're too old for that there's always the Explorer Scouts. Just an idea.
