Hi all, I wanted to drop in here to introduce myself.
First, something about me. I am an Australian who grew up in the bush in a literal sense. I have bow-hunted since I was a kid, then took a break for from it for many years while I had a family, served in the Air Force, followed by Police, Fire & Emergency Services (together). To finish off I moved over to Health. I started bow-hunting again a couple years ago, and have always been a keen rod fisherman and an on-off again spear-fisherman. My bush skills are pretty OK but need keeping up to date, and I moved off the grid semi-permanently six years ago. I live in the bush, am highly mobile, not tied down. Have several BOLs to go to, but that's not how I see the SHTF scenario - more like a long sliding descent, than teotwawki.
What am I looking for? A troll free zone, where the survival forum does not revolve around politics and religion. Please let me know now if I am in the wrong place and I'm dust on the horizon. Interests: archery, hunting/tracking, making primitive stuff, and high-tech stuff.
What am I not looking for: relevant to experiences with the above; I do not relish fools, rude people, time-wasters, people with no sense of humour, zealots... you get the idea.
What can I offer? I believe that I'm a good listener/thinker, a good researcher and teacher, have current technology skills, bush skills and plenty of years of life experience. I have plenty of survival doco that I've gathered over the years. So I'm not starting from scratch, just a little rusty.
Please forgive me if I sound too abrupt here; I am a polite person, but have been frustrated by trollery in the past, so I just wanna be up front. Looking forward to hanging out and learning/sharing with you all. All comments welcome :D:
Cheers, Reiver
P.S. in anticipation of questions, my signature phrases are from my Celtic heritage - they both mean "Touch me not with Impunity"
