I am an avid canoeist and web surfer and found this site while looking into ways to make my own snowshoeing mukluks.

Great site! Lots of reading to do and I will try not to ask the questions that have already been asked ad nauseum, like "Who is a better survivalist, Les Stroud or Bear Grylls?"
