For those that are not familiar with the KEL-TEC SU 16A or 16 B Survival Rifle here is a great write up testing both models, from Equipped.ORG. The KEL-TEC SU 16B is lighter with a shorter barrel, and as you will see both performed well, and come with essential extras.
It incorporates a nice combination of features for a survival firearm. A lightweight semi-automatic chambered in .223 Remington (5.56 Nato), it has a picatinny rail system for mounting optics and integrated folding bi-pod legs. The rifle folds in half for storage, uses the same magazines as AR-15's and M-16 rifles, and holds two, ten-round magazines in the butt stock. All these features make a potentially outstanding survival firearm package.

Even though the MSRP is $700, it can be gotten for $500 or a tad less (NIB)

I continue to hear many good things about this rifle, and very few bad things. Methinks a purchase is in my near-future. I'm going for an SU-16CA; I like the storage in the stock, the shorter barrel, and (IMO) better front sight.

I'm also going to invest in some chamber adaptors which will allow the SU to shoot .22lr, with the capability to switch to .223 with a simple magazine change.

Seems like a terrific setup, IMO.

A friend got one not long ago. I had the oppertunity to help them sight it in. Interesting... Very Interesting!

Interesting options. Just a little too militaristic for me.

I like the rifle, and have played with five different rifles. NONE of them fed well from a 30 round AR-15 magazine. From the stock mags that came with the rifle, we had NO problems. From over 50 types of AR-15 mags we had many feeding issues. Almost seemed like the bolt spring had a problem peeling rounds out of the AR mags (even when they were not fully loaded).
Not trying to dissuade someone from a rifle they want, just passing along info.

I have read that they like certain kinds of magazines better than others. I wanna say they prefer Magpull
