I wanted to make a small utility knife. After a few knife makers recommended I use power hacksaw or sawzall blade I got to looking around and found a sawzall blade in the box. We were throwing away a bunch of old circuit cards at work so I laminated them together with epoxy to use as a handle. A few hours work and basically $0 in expense I had a knife. I bought a stitching awl to make a sheath from some scrap leather I had and this is what I ended up with.

Good job - was going to ask about the Dewalt as well. What did you use to attach the scales - welding rod?

Always better when you use or improvise. Good use of materials and a decent looking job.

Yes, it is a Dewalt blade. The rod is some 5/32 brass rod I had lying around.

Man that's so cool. I love how you used unconventional materials, that's amazing.

Sweet! Just shows you can improvise a nice cutting tool if you think outside the box. Great job!!
