A GIGANTIC hot water bottle that lays under your house to store thousands of gallons of rainwater.

After researching this further, did you know it is illegal in Utah and many other states to collect rain water that falls free from the sky, since the state owns the water rights?

As time goes by, it starts to seem like the American Revolution was just a giant waste of tea.

Interesting...it is very common here to collect rainwater from your gutters. I wonder if I'm breaking the law

Just brainstorming here Beetle..probably not illegal in states with lots of rain, but more arid states of the southwest and/or Great Plains may want to take claim to all the water and allot it however they deem necessary. Streams and Rivers are highly regulated in some parts of the west

While some states (2 or 3 I think) have laws making the collection of rainwater illegal, Utah's law does not pertain to an individual collecting rainwater for use on their own property.

Wow, crazy I didnt know about that law.

"Colorado Water Law requires that precipitation fall to the ground, run off and into the river of the watershed where it fell. Because rights to water are legally allocated in this state, an individual may not capture and use water to which he/she does not have a right."

*sigh*

Collect all the water you want and if they come out to arrest you just boil it real quick. The evidence will be gone.:D

Man - my jokes just aren't taking tonight. Closed environment (nothing in, nothing out) then this metero comes crashing down from outer space into the closed environment......never mind - I'll go back to the drawing board.

Actually I am pretty sure that a 6,000 pound rock would be plenty big enough to cause damage... though I could be wrong. It would'nt be the first time.:)
