few wilderness encounters are more dangerous-or terrifying-than with bears.
If you are going to have any chance of survivng you must know which species of bear you are dealing with.Here is the method used by most wildlife experts
if he follows you up a tree,he is a black bear
if he shakes you out of the tree he is a grizzly bear
if there is no tree to climb he is a polar bear.
