Has anyone tested Gaffers tape against Duct tape? I used Gaffers tape in the photo industry for many years and found it to be extremely strong stuff. Unlike Duct tape, Gaffers tape leaves no sticky residue. I have not yet tested them side by side for survival uses, and wanted to now if anyone has.

I've used gaffers tape quite a bit in the past. While it is great stuff, the thing that I prefer about duct tape is the water proof backing. One of the many uses for duct tape is covering blisters or hot spots, or even as a bandage. I think the backing of the duct tape will out perform the gaffers tape in situations like that.

What about the 100mph tape, just in case you want to stick your foot out the window on your ride home. :D

It is what we use to cobble together crashed bush planes. just stuff the wing with grass, moss or snow, and start taping.

Maybe, but I'm not a real fast driver, nor am I a real slow driver....just kind of half fast.
