Help me out you guys, A friend gave me a American Harvester Jet Stream Oven, I have no idea how to use it or exactly what is it. It looks like a dehydrator but really who knows. The net hasnt given me any useful info. My church is having a rummage sale soon and I am thinking about giving it up. But I will have a purple cow, if I find out later it is a dehydrator like I have always wanted. Have any of you guys owned one of these? What is it? How does it work? Any help would be great! Thanks, Mary

Does it have a model number on it anywhere?

Mary - I found quite a few places that sell them, but no on-line manuals. You may want to check the library or book store for a book on convection cooking. Here's a bit of info on convection cooking.

Here is a place to get a replacement instruction manual if your model number is listed, and it looks like a pretty good little oven if it works like they say,but it is not a dehydrator, they do make them though.

You know, when I see a thread headline that says what is this thing in a survival forum I kind of expect it to be followed by a blood curdling scream. Gotta say I'm just a little disappointed here mary.

They are made by Nesco. Here's the part page for the company. Those things are a bit pricey. Sears has it for over $200.00!

See if that isn't it.

Hey Guys! Been off for awhile, But with good news, Yup, just like Rick said, its an oven but to my dismay not the dehydrator I wanted. The scream came when I called the company for a manual and they wanted to sell it to me. I understand about printing, shipping and handling and all that, but give me a break 14.99 to learn how to use their own product. I want to know that handling is anyway, is that the guy who puts it in the envelope? Do they make him lick it? What the heck is handling? I am mad now! Sorry about the rambling guys. O.K Im home now, my shoes are off and my hair is down. So, hows has everyone been? Great? Good.
