The snow is coming down the mountain, and the summer loincloth is worn out. Wool is not an option, maybe Polar Fleece, with a Goat'tex outer shell......:)

Do you prefer belt loops on your loincloth, and if not, how do you carry your survival knife.......:)

Careful there Hopeak. The grant money may be harder to come by if they find out you're chasing away the tourists in a loin cloth.

Just stuff your Fruit of the Looms with cash for the insulation purpose....... it's not gonna be worth anything in the near future anyways.

Pick up a lined wool. I have one that has a silk lining and is just great. Need to dig it out as I do a Thanksgiving hooya at the kids school each year. The woman teachers don't really seem to mind.LOL...........

I've been in zero degree weather up on Spooky Mountain, wind blowing bad, I had on my wool loincloth, a pair of wool leggins, leather leggins over them, a linen longshirt, a wool pull over over that and a buckskin pull over over that.

I was toasty warm, all those with modern gear were just freak'n cold.

Latex is a pretty good choice

Don't worry about the knife loops. Do what all respectful cons do and hide your knife where the sun dont shine.

I use my sling shot. That makes it multi-purpose and fits my philosphy. The patch goes in front, by the way. The Y handle seems to fit comfortably in the back. Just remove any burrs from the wooden handle before you sit down. I sized the patch correctly so I get to use really really big rocks for ammunition, too. It's a win/win.:D:D

.....the really disturbing thing was the placement of the wooden handle. I mean, one wrong move and we'd be talking about the ice holes like in another thread.

You could make your own. Find a wool trade cloth blanket, cut to size, and line it with something that won't uhm chafe.

Or use a chafing dish. Whichever.
