Uummm, they're getting ready boys and girls.

Irrefutable source.

Let's be very clear about this folks - these are folks direct from a hot zone that are used to kicking in doors and shooting people. The infantry's job is to break stuff and kill people. And 11B's do it well.

You'd think if they were going to deploy a brigade stateside (HELLO POSSE COMMITATUS?) they'd at least used a non-combat arms brigade? Supply, engineers?

History points to what is going to happen, Republic's failing is not new in history. They are preparing for what they know is going to happen civil unrest is normal when a population is starving.

They also prepare "alternative" political movements for the people. Most movements are of this type. Fascists, national socialists, communists, anarchists. These all are failures in long term and all are dictatorships with republic like structures. Except the Anarchists who never have a chance for success.

So they know what is happening, they know they are creating the situation for it to happen. They know for certain.

Not good. Not good.

Jeepers, Bragg i just got home from work and you got to go and scare me like that. I hear what your saying though, it can be a slippery slope from helping civilians to controlling civilians. I noticed crowd control was listed as part of their duties.

they sure sugar coated the information in the article to make it sound all fuzzy and warm, didn't they?
Aren't we grateful to have this force to 'protect us'?
Scary news. Anything to do with the homeland security frightens me . . .

Why didn't they just bring a few National Guard units back? Their job is home defense, right?

Let's not get paranoid just yet.

While it does seem wierd that they would not recall a national guard or reserve unit it is not unprecedented for the military to help on US soil. However what most people don't realize is that when they respond to domestic disasters, technically they are subordinate to state/local authorities. This spring/summer when we had all of the flooding here in Iowa we had the help of a lot of national guard and reservists and they were very good about helping and asking where they were needed. Sure there were a few who wanted to come in and take charge over everything, but by and large they were very helpful and willing to do whatever they were asked to do.
