I use Bass Wood for many of my drills and fire starters. Sycamore isanother good wood to use. Note the bends in the bow prod.

I've used yucca for the drill ,bow ,cordage ,fire board ,and tinder. I haven't used it for bearing block - maybe a big green root would work.
