Before I left Brazil I took three nights off to do a solo trip. I shot enough video on the trip that once it was edited I had 52 minutes of video. I'm still working out the bugs of setting it up as a regular DVD with a few video extras. Anyway, I made up a trailer for my Youtube page and we'll see if it generates any interest.
I still have no idea what I'm going to do with this but I'm looking into using it in some capacity to raise money for the course, most likely offering copies for sale at my speaking engagements. Anyway you can get a look at some clips from it.
For me this was a total destress/decompression before we had to hit it 24/7 for our last week in Brazil as I was shutting down all sorts of things for our year-long furlough.

This is the first time I have ever tried to do a video of more than a few minutes long. Actually it came about kind of by accident.
I was totally stressed out beyond the ability of other people to cope with me. My wife literally exiled me to the bush to de-stress. I took the camera along to film stuff for my YT channel as I was leaving Brazil for a year and have really mixed feelings about that.
I ended up with about 19 short videos once they were edited and my kids wanted to watch them. I woke up at 5 AM one morning and decided to copy/paste them all into one file so the kids could watch without me having to be there loading each in turn.
That was an eye opener that it ran over 50 minutes long so I re-edited it. I had to re-arrange some of the clips so it made sense topically but they aren't all chronological.
Here are some stills I shot from the trip.

All survival trips for me tend to follow the same pattern the first day is a frantic rush just to get a viable place for the night. The second day you evaluate your situation, scout out your resources in the area, come up with a plan, and work real hard to make the place comfortable. The third day is the first chance you get some time to relax.
For me this trip was exactly what I needed to clear my head. Mac
