couldn't believe it. i was fishing in a shallow stream for brook trout, ultralight rod and a fly with a tiny bobber near it. i saw a fish go for a fly on topwater, and cast right at it. he ignored it of course, but the water there was only 6 inches deep apparently. after a minute of inaction, i started to reel in. it wouldn't move, so i thought, damm, a snag. i waded over, pulled up the line from the bottom, and thought that i had caught a rock. but nope, it was a clam. apparently the cast was right to him, he had his maw open, and when he felt the fly, he clamped lol. unbelieveable.

Those mussels are good eating...
And if you had been trying to catch a clam the trout would have bit. Ain't it always the case?!:D

Hey, at least it was food.:D Could have been an old boot, license plate. chair, tire, or one of my other common catches.

Dead bodies are always an interesting catch

What? The dead body, or the clam?
You only have to worry about that around New Jersey, right Vinnie?
"Yo! I got your New Jersey right here, pally."
